[yellow tail]

The [yellow tail] story is a remarkable one. From a standing start in 2000 it now boasts multi million case sales across the world, making it the fastest growing wine brand in the world. An astonishing one in five bottles of wine exported from Australia bears the yellow tail label and it’s rated as the 4th most powerful wine brand in the world (Power 100, 2009). Remarkably, this comes from a family owned company not a multinational. The Casella family, whose forebears had been grape growers in Italy since the 1820s moved to Australia in the 1950s and cannot have imagined how their decision to grow grapes would pay off. The international success has translated to Ireland too. In a difficult trading environment it has shown strong growth over the last two years and is increasingly a must list item for retailers. That growth is partly down to its distinctive name and packaging, but also because of its taste appeal. Sampling promotions always get tremendously positive results with many people claiming that the Pinot Grigio is the nicest one they have ever tried.
