Sandalford

Founded in 1840, Sandalford Wines is Australia’s oldest and largest family owned winery.  The key objective for Sandalford Wines is to produce outstanding premium and super premium wines from the world famous Margaret River region of Western Australia and specifically from our 38 yr old Estate vineyard in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River. 

The winemaking philosophy of Sandalford reflects the importance of the terroir of Margaret River. The wines are made to be pure in terms of both varietal and regional character. Our wines rely more on elegance and finesse rather than power and might. The use of hand-picking, peristaltic wine pumps and open, small static fermenters ensure this outcome. In essence the winery production methods are gentle in terms of extraction thus respecting the inherent qualities of the fruit.

Chief Winemaker Paul Boulden is a twenty year veteran of the Australian Wine Industry. In recent times the winery has won Trophies for its white wines, red wines and fortified wines at major Australian and International Wine Shows including 5 Star critical reviews from Australia’s foremost wine authority, James Halliday.
